Public Open House
February 28, 2023
KC Parks hosted a public open house for community members to learn about the Brush Creek Cultural Heritage Corridor Trail. The open house was held the evening of February 28, 2023, at the Brush Creek Community Center. Community members were invited to learn the history of the project; weigh in on the project mission and vision statements; nominate individuals, events, or elements to be honored on the trail; contribute preferences for public art sites; learn about the Arts Selection Process; and visit with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, who is developing a Master Plan for Brush Creek.
Research with a Librarian for the Brush Creek Cultural Heritage Trail
March 22, 2023
Our community partners at the KC Public Library hosted a research event at the Southeast Branch on March 22. KC Parks and the project team were present to introduce the Brush Creek Community Heritage Trail to library patrons and answer any questions they might have about the project. KC Library staff was on hand to help patrons research individuals, events and elements they would like to see honored on the Trail. Representatives visited with a total of 39 library patrons. One patron filled out and submitted a nomination form on site.
